02 August Update: For the Community

02 August 2024

Kia ora koutou,

Earlier this year in March and June,  I provided our community with information about a former teacher at our school (Mr Ramiah) pleading guilty to charges relating to allegations of sexual misconduct during his time as a teacher at the school.

In my previous communications, I committed to keeping our families updated if further information came to hand.  We understand that Mr Ramiah was sentenced to 29 months imprisonment yesterday .  It is my understanding also that this is the final part of the process.

Thank you to our wonderful community for your support of our students, staff and school during this time.  It is very important to me that you feel assured about how seriously we take any matter affecting the health, safety or wellbeing of any of our students, and our responsibilities around providing a quality education to each of our students.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me directly if there is anything that you would like to discuss with me about any aspect of our school.
